Settings that enforce it
- Use an assistant that can run code or spreadsheet formulas, and switch that tool on (often called "Code", "Analysis" or "Data analysis").
- Give it a copy of the batch, not the live file, so a mistake can't change your records.
- Write your required fields down once, in one list, and reuse it for every count.
- Keep each table next to the batch it counted, with the date.
- If your tool can't do one of these, leave that part of the job with a person.
One check before you trust it
Give it ten rows: two with "TBD" as the price, and one that repeats another row. It should name the two placeholders and the duplicate, and its totals should add up to ten.
